A field approaching equilibrium without becoming still.

Settled Field I is organised through unequal colour regions that gradually accommodate one another. Deep teal carries most of the visual weight, while pale cyan, magenta and quieter intermediate tones redistribute that pressure across the composition.

The geometry remains centreless. Broad planes overlap, interrupt and partially absorb one another, creating local shifts in density, colour and direction. Darker regions anchor the field without becoming a fixed centre, while smaller chromatic intervals prevent the structure from resolving into simple balance.

The work becomes complete at the point where the competing regions can remain in relation without further structural displacement.
