Settled Field Triptych I extends the copper branch of the series across three linked compositions. Each panel carries the same structural language of copper, burgundy and blue-black teal, yet each settles those forces differently.

The left panel introduces a compressed condition. Narrow dark intervals rise through the lower field while a broad copper plane moves vertically through the structure, creating a tight arrangement of overlap and resistance.

The centre panel becomes the anchor of the triptych. The same elements are redistributed into a more concentrated balance, with darker regions holding the middle weight and the copper field acting as a stabilising passage through the composition.

The right panel closes the sequence with a more forceful arrangement. Burgundy and blue-black teal gather into denser masses, while the copper plane remains present as the element that binds the structure together.

Across all three works, transparency alters density rather than dissolving form. Overlap creates new colour states, while shifts in scale, position and interval prevent the repeated geometry from becoming fixed or mechanical.

The triptych format allows the field to unfold across separate surfaces while remaining one coherent structure. Each panel holds its own equilibrium.

Seen together, they reveal how the same set of unequal forces can settle in different ways without losing coherence.
