Settled Field II brings large chromatic regions into a provisional balance. Deep teal carries the lower structure, while red, cyan and warm ochre occupy opposing areas of the field, each altering the visual pressure of the others.

The composition remains centreless. Overlap, interruption and changes in density create a network of local relationships rather than a single focal point. Smaller internal planes act as points of adjustment, allowing the larger masses to remain distinct while still participating in the same structure.

The work becomes complete when no region needs to dominate for the field to hold.
