A field stabilised through changing density.
Settled Field VI brings copper, burgundy and blue-black teal into a layered structure in which the same regions repeatedly change weight as they pass through one another.
A broad copper field occupies the upper structure, becoming lighter, darker and more transparent as successive planes overlap. Burgundy gathers at the upper left, while the deeper teal region below provides resistance without becoming a fixed centre.
Through the middle of the work, smaller olive-grey and dark intervals interrupt the larger planes. These local shifts alter the density of the surrounding colour and create a sequence of adjustments through the field.
The geometry retains traces of earlier positions. Transparency allows previous states to remain visible beneath the settled configuration, so stability does not erase the movement that produced it.
The work becomes complete when these unequal regions can remain distinct while the field holds as a single structure.
